My love of all things vintage started with my love of collecting. As a kid I collected anything and everything and put each and every piece diligently on display. The toys my mom gave me from her childhood quickly became my favorite possessions. Dolls with endearing faces and figurines unlike any you’d find at the mall... The fabulous detail on the vintage and antique pieces were what I loved the most, and still do today.
I now use my collections as inspiration and as materials for the work I do. I am most inspired by early German and holiday figures and ornaments. Spun cotton has always been precious to me, but also out of reach due to its rarity and high price tag. With much determination I taught myself the technique for making spun cotton and have since branched out from Christmas to other holidays and other themes altogether. My many characters always make me smile and I am always anxious to discover new animals, people, and people-animals.
I live in Boston with my honey Ben, kitty Magic, birds, fish and quails. I grew up on a dairy farm in Saratoga Springs, NY and was born to a free-spirited artist mother and a hard working farmer father. I graduated high school at sixteen before receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design at SUNY Oswego.
